The Temple :)

I feel that the happiest place to be on this earth is the temple. I want to let my readers now that I am a devout Latter Day Saint and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  With this faith comes a love of God and what better place to feel His love then in His house. I am lucky enough to be going to school just ten miles form the beautiful Manti Temple. At home it is a good hour and a half to the nearest temple.
It is such a blessing to have this temple so close. On days when I am struggling or my homework has piled up I can put on my Sunday best and drive minutes to the most beuatigul building in the area.

To me this temple looks like a castle and it serves as  a reminder that I am a Daughter of God and a Princess. In a world that looks down on individual worth and that objectionalizes women it is so great to belong to a faith that believes in women and the impacts the have on the lives around them.

The Happy Thought for the day is the Temple. The house of God. The place we go to do work for those who cant and the place we get to go to be sealed for time and all eternity to our eternal families. I am so grateful to My Heavenly Father that he has provide such places for us on the earth. places where we can grow and learn of him. places we can feel his spirit and preform work vital to our exaltation. My dear friends I urge you to keep the temple as your focus in life. and even if you are on the path to enter or you have gained that privilege I urge you to go to the temple often. Even if its just to the grounds you can feel the Holy Spirit and God's love.

Educational Assignment or the motivation for the birth of my blog:)

As part of this blog(since I am on the path to elementary teacher-hood) I will be following three blogs on teaching by teachers. The three blogs are:, 2¢ Worth, and Cool Cat Teacher Blog. is written by Quentin D’Souza a former teacher and individual who is involved in technology in the classroom.  One of his most recent entries is about a book about connecting technology to the classroom or to our lives. I liked that he not only his opinion of the book but key points the book offers. I hope he continues to write.

Next is 2¢ Worth a blog by David Warlick. What drew me to this blog was his about me which states "2¢ Worth consists of the observations, experiences, half-baked and fully baked ideas of an 35 year vagabond educator." His writing voice and the way he presents the issues really make the reader want to keep reading. I am excited to read this blog.

Last is Cool Cat  Teacher Blog. This blog is just the random happenings of  Vicki Davis a full time teacher. I like her random wanderings because my mind works that way. I also like that she shares real experiences that she has day to day. Her authenticity is what drew me to this blog.

YOUR HAPPY THOUGHT :) Please enjoy these blogs and have a great week... day... Um time... until we meet again:)

"Oh Happy Day" First Blog post EVER!!!!!!

This is a phrase one of my best friends likes use. Every time I  hear it it puts a smile on my face.
If you had asked me a day ago if I would ever have a blog I would have said defiantly not! This is a good lesson in how "Defiantly not's" can most defiantly happen :)

So here I am with my first blog. If you were wondering, the motivation was for school. I have done many crazy things for the sake of a grade. Its true.  So like every good blog there needs to be a theme. Why, you ask? Because without a theme a blog gets random and is chaotic. I want my blog to mean something so that I keep it up and it is not just one of those random things I did in college for a grade.

The setting of my blog is life. Life is chaotic and unpredictable. Yet through it all we can stay positive and look on the bright side of all things.
The theme of my blog is Happiness. Yes very cliche, I know. But still important. I want my blog to be a place that I as the author and you as the reader can have a bright spot in what can be a dark and scary world. So my friends I say to you good reading and "Oh happy day"
